Saffron should be consumed in milk during pregnancy. Consuming saffron in pregnancy is completely safe as saffron, known as Golden Spice, has many medicinal properties. 

Saffron reduces stress during pregnancy, alleviates the problem of mood swings, helps to relieve any pain or discomfort.

However, you should take several precautions while using saffron in pregnancy. Also start taking saffron from 3 months of pregnancy. Do not consume saffron in the first 3 months of pregnancy. During pregnancy, the heart rate of many women increases by about 25 percent, due to which the blood pressure starts to go up and down. 

Preeclampsia can also be a problem if blood pressure increases in pregnancy. In such cases, saffron which contains potassium and crocetin helps in controlling blood pressure. Therefore, taking saffron in pregnancy can be beneficial.
